Born on November 30, 1964, Rosemary Elizabeth Mooy grew up and attended school in the tight-knit community of Waldwick, New Jersey, where she eventually returned and spent most of her life. Late last year she was moved to the Allendale Rehab Facility, where she passed on March 4 th , 2026.
She graduated from Waldwick High School as well as the University of Rhode Island where she was the President of her sorority.
“Rosey” worked for several years in the production of the soap opera, “Guiding Light”, as well as multiple projects and specials. She enjoyed working in television and becoming a member of the Director’s Guild of America (DGA). In her free time, Rosey had a love and passion for photography. She captured many great shots and began to dovetail the beautiful photography into artwork and greeting cards, which she was able to offer for sale.
Surviving members of her family are her mother, Mary McGregor Mooy, and brothers, Greg and Hans (Colleen), along with nephews John and Michael Mooy; and Aunt Roberta McGregor Bennett; as well as cousins Rob (Lorraine) Bennett, Jimmy Bennett and Michael Bennett. Predeceased are her father, John Mooy, aunts and uncles Penny & Frank Schoofs, and Jean McGregor Glus & Alexander Glus and Uncle Mike Bennett.
The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ 07481. A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Rosey’s honor may be made to the Waldwick United Methodist Church.
