Ruth (Stern) Good of Midland Park, N.J. passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026 with her loving family by her side. Born on March 13, 1929 to Willy and Julia Stern in Essen, Germany, Ruth arrived at Ellis Island in 1946. She became an American citizen and remained proud of her citizenship throughout her life. She also took pride in her position as store manager at Sealfon’s in Ridgewood. Known for her brilliant smile, outgoing personality, and unmistakable style, Ruth’s fierce spirit, determination, and bravery were second to none. She lived a happy life as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Ruth is predeceased by her beloved husband, George William Good, and her parents. She cherished her family and was a dedicated and loving mother to her daughters Linda Duchak, Ruth Good, and Debby (Manfred) Strott. In addition to her daughters, Ruth is survived by her grandchildren Whitney (Jim) McKenna, Adam Duchak, Ryan (Elizabeth) Duchak, Richard Peters, Julianne Peters, Siobhan (John) Strott, Jordan (Tim) Strott-Reiser, Lindsay (James) Strott-Burgess, Evin (Zack) Strott-Slotter, Maureen Good-Wasserman, Kathleen Good-Weighknecht and 13 great-grandchildren in whom she found special joy.
Friends will be received on Monday, April 6, 2026 from 6 pm - 8 pm at Vander Plaat Funeral Home www.vpfh.com , 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. A private interment will be held at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa, N.J.
Remembrances may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
