Ruth Livesey, 84, of Waldwick, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2024. She was born on December 5, 1939, in Paterson, NJ to the late Leonard and Esther Klein. Ruth grew up and lived in Hawthorne before moving to Waldwick, 57 years ago.
She was a dedicated volunteer with Cumac in Paterson NJ, and Valley Hospital Kurth Cottage for many years. Ruth was also a longtime member of the Waldwick Golden Club, where she helped organize many local events. She was a parishioner of Waldwick United Methodist Church for the past 57 years. Ruth loved the outdoors, traveling, camping, canoeing, swimming, sightseeing, and was an avid reader. Some of her greatest memories were spending summers at Highland Lakes, NJ as a child. Her greatest joy was spending time with family at barbeques and holidays.
Ruth is survived by her three sons, John Jr. and his wife Cindy of Ringwood, Scott and his wife Laurie of Whitehouse Station and Brian and his wife Alexis of Matawan. She is also survived by her pride and joy five grandchildren: Amanda, Alexandra, Erik, Eleanor, and John (Jack). She is survived by her brother John, and predeceased by her brother Ed, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She is reunited with her husband John in Heaven.
The family will receive friends on Sunday 2-5 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated Monday, 10am at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ.
