RuthAnne Dreisbach passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2025, following a courageous battle with ALS. Before and despite her illness, she lived a rich life, enjoyed building her career, raising her daughter, traveling, and sharing her time and talents for the greater good.
RuthAnne is survived by her daughter Charlotte, sister and brother-in-law Deidre and Steve Groehnert, and niece and nephews Jacqueline, Tommy and Jason, as well as Jennifer and Jonathan Kaufman, Charlotte’s godparents.
The daughter of Jean and Dale Dreisbach, RuthAnne grew up in Ramsey, NJ. She graduated from Ramsey High School, where she was active in chorus, plays and the debate club. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and English from Rutgers College and professional certifications in Graphic and Interior Design from the School of Visual Arts and the NY School of Interior Design respectively.
RuthAnne worked as a consultant focused on system design and technology for the financial services sector primarily in asset management and investment banking. With over 30 years of experience in developing market data and interactive marketing communication systems, she earned a reputation for bringing ideas to life and profitability.
RuthAnne was the President of Stratevist, the multi-disciplinary strategic design and branding business she founded in 1998. Her managerial skills ranged from product development to project management to streamlining complex systems into highly efficient and intelligent systems. She has served a diverse range of clients including Goldman, Sachs & Co., Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley and Blackstone. Further, she was a Managing Director of Capitol Peak Asset Management (2014-2017), a unique public-private partnership established under the Obama administration to bring capital and solutions to clean energy, agribusiness and infrastructure projects across Rural America to help revitalize regional economies.
She became active in Democratic politics volunteering on the Biden and Harris campaigns —driven by her beliefs that freedom, compassion and the rule of law should drive our politics and policies. She wrote several articles on economic policy and leadership. She did her best to fight the good fight.
She served on the boards of directors of the Financial Communications Society, Downey Side Adoption, and the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company.
She was an avid adventurer and cyclist, traveling to Germany, France, Costa Rica and across America to see the world on two wheels, even completing a ‘century’ around Lake Tahoe to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma society. She was also an active volleyball and tennis player, joining corporate and adult leagues over the years. She loved formal cultural and charitable events while living in Manhattan for an exciting 30 years. Never shy, she sang with a cover band at several of these events and was also a choir member at her churches in Ramsey and in Manhattan. Her passion for art began early in life and grew as she worked at the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers and developed a passion for dissident art from the former Soviet Union. She was an avid amateur painter and clothing designer for herself and the children in her life.
Her greatest joy came with the birth of her daughter, and while the adventures changed, they were even more magical. The two were inseparable, travelling to Canada, Europe, Bermuda, Palm Beach and Disney World with family and special friends. She and Charlotte always loved the beaches of Long Island, the Jersey Shore, and Oquaga Lake. They also shared a love of animals, especially their two crazy, lovable Aussies Sage and Tucker.
