Sadelle Sorge

Sadelle (Pearce) Sorge, 84 from Franklin Lakes, NJ, passed away peacefully Saturday morning February
21, 2026 after a long journey with dementia.

A registered nurse for over 30 years, she cared for others with compassion and quiet strength. Sharp
minded and intelligent with a natural gift for mathematics, she had a deep appreciation for problem-
solving. Handy and resourceful, she was often the one fixing things around the house, approaching
challenges with patience and confidence. Her kindness, sharp mind, and steady presence touched many
lives.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Patrick Sorge Sr., and her son, Patrick Sorge
Jr. She is survived by her loving children, Kathleen Sorge Piekarz and her husband Gregory, Laureen
Sorge Vespoli, and her husband Frank and Anthony Sorge and his partner Jeanette, as well as her nine
cherished grandchildren Patrick, Rebecca, Sadelle, Michael, Michelle, Lillian, Bella, Vanessa and
Antoinette.

For the past seven years, dementia gradually took her memories, creating a long and difficult goodbye
for her family. Though the illness changed so much, it never diminished the love that surrounded her.
She will be remembered not for the disease she endured, but for the decades of care she gave, the
strength she showed, and the deep devotion she had for her family.
She took special pride in her grandchildren and patiently taught each of her nine grandchildren how to
swim — a gift of confidence and care they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
She will be dearly missed and forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her.

The Sorge family will receive friends and family on Thursday, February 26, 2026 from 3:00 until 7:00pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ  07481.
