Sally Titus Obituary

Sally Stegeman Titus, a 60-year resident of Waldwick, NJ, passed away peacefully on March 13,
2024 at the age of 93.
Sally enjoyed people, especially young people. She was a gifted teacher, as well as a substitute
teacher in Midland Park, Ramsey and Waldwick. Many of her students said she was “the best
substitute teacher we ever had.”
Sally also worked at both the Franklin Lakes and Waldwick libraries, helping patrons and
developing and implementing educational programming for children.
She earned her Rural Elementary Education certification from Western Michigan University,
and a B.A. in Elementary Education and permanent NJ certification from William Paterson
Through many years Sally gave generously to dozens of charities as a tireless champion for
people in need, marginalized populations, and animals. She especially loved cats and adopted
many homeless animals over the years.
Sally was a huge support and encouragement to family, neighbors and everyone she met. Her
sparkling personality, artistic bent, and ability to tell a story that could make you laugh and cry
at the same time will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Raymond, her daughter Lisa Titus Wallace
and her husband David, her son David Titus and his wife Linda, and three grand-daughters and
their spouses: Sherry Wallace McCullough and her husband Jonathan, Jen Titus Malinowski and
her husband Scott, and Anna Wallace Seymour and her husband Justin.
She was predeceased by her father and mother, Clare and Mildred Stegeman, her sister Joan
Stegeman Volker and her brother John.
All services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sally’s memory can be made to the Green Chimneys Foundation
