Shirley Keller

Shirley J. Keller, 87, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 24, 2026.  Born in Paterson, NJ, Shirley was a lifelong resident of Oakland.

Shirley was an employee of Haband in Prospect Park, bookkeeper and office manager at Standard Environmental Systems in Totowa for 20+ years and retired from Falls Metal in Little Falls, after many years as office manager. She was an active and longtime member of Fardale Trinity Church, where she sang in the choir, and served on the Missions Committee faithfully for many years among other areas of service.

Shirley was a lifelong NY Yankees fan, she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, playing cards and scrabble and fixing just about anything.  She loved helping others and taking on challenges with perseverance. 

Shirley valued her church family along with her own family and friends. 

She is survived by her children: Richard (Jackie) Keller of Vernon, NJ.  Sherry (Robert) Flaherty of Cape Elizabeth, ME and she is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Kyle (Erika) Keller, Kendall (Dan) Pinto, Colin Flaherty and Dylan Flaherty, and 3 great grandchildren: Frank, Marnie and Beau, nephews Robert Stevens, Rick Post, nieces Pamela Barkett, Kim Frank and her beloved cat Frankie and grand-dogs Shaq and Holly.

She was predeceased by her son Ronald Keller, her sisters Winnie Post, Janet Stevens and brother Joseph Heyl.

Visiting hours will be 8:30 to 9:30am on Saturday, June 27 at the Fardale Trinity Church, 73 Chapel Road, Mahwah, NJ.  A funeral service celebrating her life will begin at 9:30am on Saturday at the Fardale Trinity Church.  

Interment will follow the service at the Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Fair Lawn.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley’s memory can be made to the Fardale Trinity Church Missions Fund, 73 Chapel Road, Mahwah, 07430,  Wounded Warrior Project or a charity of your choice.
