Stanley “Stan” R. Laikowski, 86, of Midland Park, died at home surrounded by his family, on Friday, July 16, 2021. Born and raised in Brooklyn, he moved to Midland Park 54 years ago. Stan served in the US Army as a 1st Lieutenant.
He was an Electrical Engineer starting his career with Western Union before moving to AT&T in Parsippany. Stan and his wife loved to travel, spending time every year in Aruba. He was also an avid golfer and tennis player.
Stan is survived by his loving wife Claire, his daughters Theresa Grier and her husband Stephen and Rosemary Healey and her husband Sean, and his grandchildren Tyler Grier, Jake Healey and Sara Grier. Stan is also survived by his brother Stephen Laikowski (Natalie), and sisters-in-law Rosemary Laikowski, and Anne Sullivan (James). Stan was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Anne and his brother Paul. Stan will also be dearly missed by his two golfing buddies, Jack Rodenberg and Tom Mitchell.
The family will gather from 4 to 8pm on Monday at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ.
A Funeral Mass celebrating his life will be 10:00am on Tuesday at the Church of the Nativity, 315 Prospect St., Midland Park, NJ 07432.
Burial will follow at the Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.
