Stephen Rice

Stephen Rice, 54, of Midland Park, NJ passed away peacefully on April 8th 2025. Stephen was born in Elmhurst, IL before moving to Wyckoff, NJ at the age of 12 with his mom, step-father and brother.

Steve was a graduate of Saint Joseph Regional High School and went on to graduate from NorthEastern University.

Steve was an avid athlete playing football in HS then going on to playing Rugby in College and over the years after college. Steve loved playing golf with family and friends, along with watching his teams the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears play. Steve also enjoyed going to Crossfit daily. Known to everyone as the Gentle Giant and larger than life, he always had a smile on his face, making everyone gravitate to him. Steve had many dear friends who he would always be there for.

He met his wife Christine in 2004 and they were married in 2007 when they started their family with having two beautiful boys Connor & Logan. Steve coached his sons in all sports starting in pre-school through their years until middle school. He was their biggest fan and loved watching them play their sports with passion, just like he did.

Steve is survived by his wife Christine, sons Connor & Logan, mom Rita (Higgins), brother Tommy (wife Shelley, niece Charlotte, nephew Carson), mother in law Mary Ann, father in law Peter, brother in law Peter (wife Jen, niece Abigail, nephew Thomas) along with many cousins and dear friends. Steve was preceded in death by his father Stephen Rice and step father Paul Higgins.
