Stratoula “Toula” Kominos, 93, of Mahwah, NJ, passed away surrounded by her family on March 23,2024.
Toula is survived by her daughter-in-law Zografia, grandsons Arthur Kominos and Nicholas Kominos, and granddaughter Alexandra Kominos.
Toula was predeceased by her husband Arthur in 2001 and her son Constantine in 2022.
Toula was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt and friend to all.
Toula was an immigrant that came to this county from Mantamados, Lesvos, Greece in 1955. She arrived to New York City with hope of the American dream. She later moved to Ridgewood, New Jersey with her husband to raise her family in 1961. Later that year they bought their first home in Allendale, New Jersey where they would grow and build their family.
Toula was a member of the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Wyckoff, NJ and was one of the founding families of the church community. Through all this times one thing remained constant, her Faith. Her faith carried her through the ups and downs of life. She would instill her values to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed volunteering at St.Nicholas Greek Festival serving greek coffee at the Kafenio. She will truly be missed by many.
Visitations will be held at 10:30am and will be followed by the funeral services at 11:30 am on Thursday at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 467 Grandview Avenue Wyckoff, NJ. Toula will be laid to rest at the George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus NJ.
