His father emigrated to the United States from Padula, Italy, as a teenager, began a life here with very little and built up a shoe-shine business supporting a large family. All his customers felt like family, as anyone around him did. He managed his business for 30 years, retiring in1995. In retirement, Tom enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, staying current about politics and using his meticulous tool bench as he truly enjoyed any home project.
Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marilyn, to whom he was married for over 60 years. He is survived by his children Judy (George) Daddario and Linda (Kevin) Kelly. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jeff and Kristen Daddario, Ryan (Aidan) and Julia Kelly and many nieces and nephews.
Tom will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, loyalty and sense of humor. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He relished his time with his family, and loved to host a family pool day followed by a summer barbecue at his house. In recent years, Tom was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth’s in Wyckoff.
Tom was one of twelve children and is predeceased by two sisters, Mille Esposito and Rose DeVito and three brothers, Ernie, Butch and Frank as well as four others siblings who died at young ages, Joseph, Robert, John and Michael.
