Thomas Scott, 71, of Ramsey and formerly of Allendale, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
He was a member of the Allendale Volunteer Fire Department for nearly 55 years. Tom was also a member of the Allendale Ambulance Corps for 12 years. He retired from the A&P where he worked for 40 years. Tom was a crossing guard in Ramsey and then in Allendale for the past school year. He recently decided to rejoin the workforce for Shop Rite in Oakland. He genuinely enjoyed helping the customers and people in general. Tom loved working in the yard, planting flowers etc. He loved to travel, it didn’t make a difference whether it was the beach or the mountains, adventure or relaxing. All summer long he could be found sitting on the beach at Crestwood Lake.
He is survived by his partner of more than 35 years, Debra Higbie and many cherished friends. He was predeceased by his father Charles Scott, his mother Grace Scott, and his brother Don
Scott all of Allendale.
A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday July 25, 2026 at 3 pm at the Allendale Fire House
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Allendale Volunteer Fire Department or Allendale Ambulance Corps.
