Thomas Wegman, 66, of Oakland, New Jersey, passed away on June 20, 2026. Born on October 3, 1959, he was the son of Dorothy and Howard. Thomas graduated from Robert Morris University and went on to have a fulfilling career, excelling in many different jobs throughout his life.
Beyond his professional achievements, Thomas was passionate about sports photography. He also loved watching NASCAR and college sports with his family. He will be remembered for the pride he took in teaching his children and grandchildren so many important life lessons and for loving them with all of his heart.
He loved helping his sons complete their Eagle Scout projects and run the carnival hot dog stand each year. He also enjoyed coaching his children's basketball and baseball teams for many years. Thomas served on the Zion Lutheran Church Council for many years and had a passion for cooking and delivering food for the men's shelter in Paterson. He took pride in teaching his children to drive and loved watching his daughter dance at her recitals. His cousins meant the world to him, and they enjoyed vacations together on Cape Cod and in Nags Head, North Carolina. Hours spent around the table in Wayne, New Jersey, and time spent in a little yard in Stamford, Connecticut, will never be forgotten. Most of all, he loved spending quality time with his family.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Laura; his children, Samantha, Jack, and Eddie; his father, Howard; his sisters, Barbara and Carol; his sister-in-law, Carol; his daughter-in-law, Jessica; and his grandsons, Cole, Nathan, and Landon. He was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy, whom he called Gracie, and by his brothers-in-law, Russell and Stephen. Tom joins his grandparents, Blanche and Henry Bobrovicz and Emily and Frank Wegman, as well as many aunts and uncles, in heaven.
A celebration of Thomas's life will be held on July 10, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Saddle River, New Jersey. All who knew and loved Thomas are welcome to attend.
