Obituary

Vincent Gerard Varisano walked this world with a smile. His kind, gentle soul radiated with everything he did. Loved and respected by all who knew him, Vinny was an example of a true gentleman.  Vincent was born on June 14, 1949 in Brooklyn, NY to his parents, Vincent J. and Linda. He left us on March 6, 2023, and was surrounded by the love and laughter of his family every single day. He married the love of his life, Alice (née Hughes) on June 30, 1973, and they built a beautiful life with their two children, Lynn and Paul, in Long Island, NY. He was devoted to his wife and family and his alma mater, Saint John’s University and was a die-hard fan of their basketball team. Vinny worked as an Economist at the Commodities Futures Trading Commission for 35 years until he retired in 2017. However, that’s when Vinny started working at his favorite full-time job as the world’s greatest grandfather.

Vinny was devoted to his family and lived his life to make his loving wife, adoring children, and adorable grandchildren happy. It wasn’t unusual to see Vinny doing school pick-ups/drop-offs, playing with his grandchildren for hours or even combing his granddaughters’ hair like a pro. He was the biggest fan at every sporting event, sang the loudest at every birthday party, and made sure every family gathering catered to everyone’s requests. Selfless would be an understatement; Vinny was an angel even before he went to Heaven.

He was more than a husband; he was a true companion. He was more than a father; he was a rock. He was more than a grandfather; he was a best friend. Vinny lived for his family, and he would go to the ends of the earth to put smiles on their faces, especially his grandchildren. He was, and will forever be, the person they all strive to be like – kind, generous, loving, gentle, devoted, loyal, joyful, and caring. Vincent will be missed every day, but his smile will eternally shine on the beautiful legacy he created.

Vincent is survived by his wife Alice (nee) Hughes Varisano, his daughter Lynn Wallman (nee) Varisano and her husband Matthew and his son Paul Varisano and his wife Adriana, and his grandchildren Alex and Brooke Wallman and Emily and Kennedy Varisano.
