Virginia Battel Obituary

Virginia "Ginny" Battel, 80, Beloved mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving children Laurie, Tracy, and Steven.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Ginny created a beautiful life rooted in family, love, and joy. She and her late husband, Bruce, raised their family in Mahwah. Summers were always spent on Long Beach Island at their home in Loveladies, a place Ginny adored, where the ocean breeze, sunshine, and time with her children and grandchildren brought her the greatest joy. Together, Ginny and Bruce built a beautiful life rooted in love. Ginny and Bruce shared a deep love and a spirit of adventure, traveling the world together and creating a lifetime of memories, including an unforgettable African safari and an Alaskan cruise. Ginny, a devoted animal lover, found great joy in caring for her many pets over the years, consisting of dogs, cats, and a bird. Sunny, her 38-year-old Amazon parrot, and her two beloved cats brought her constant companionship and comfort.

Ginny had a remarkable eye for beauty—she adored fashion, interior design, shopping, jewelry, makeup, gardening, and fresh flowers. Her signature sparkle, both inside and out, defined her presence. This shared love of all things elegant and feminine created a special bond between Ginny, her daughters, and granddaughters, who lovingly refer to her as “Glam-ma.” To know Ginny was to feel instantly welcomed by her warmth, her humor, and her contagious spirit. She lit up every room she entered, and her legacy of kindness, style, and grace lives on in those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Ginny is survived by her three children, Laurie Yevchak (Robert), Tracy Davidoff (Scott), and Steven Battel (Jennie), her two brothers, Gary and Bruce, as well as seven grandchildren: Kara, Samantha, Spencer, Amanda, Andrew, Kendall, and Gavin.

She is predeceased by her husband, Bruce. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
