William Albert Buchmann

William  "Bill" Buchmann, 97, of Pompton Plains, NJ passed away peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. Born and raised in Paterson, NJ. Bill lived in Hawthorne for over 30 years before settling in Pompton Plains for the last 14 years.

He was a founder of B & S Sheet Metal Company, located in Hawthorne, leading the business with dedication and integrity for 36 years.

Bill was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. He gained the respect of colleagues, employees, and clients alike. His leadership and vision were instrumental in the growth and success of B & S Sheet Metal, which continued for another 20 years under the direction of his sons.

Outside of work, Bill enjoyed traveling and adventure. He and his family made cherished memories camping in their travel trailer. He loved exploring new places and taking in the scenery.  Upon retirement, he and his wife took their time exploring many states, and then spent their winters in Florida.

He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A beloved husband for 67 years to the late Gertrude Buchmann. Cherished father of the late Robert Buchmann and his surviving wife Stacy, and Gary Buchmann and his wife Claire. Dear grandfather of Nicole Threlfall, and Gretchen and Peter Buchmann. Great-grandfather of Eleanor and Amelia Threlfall.  Brother of the late Charles and Edward Buchmann.
