William Haigh, Sr.

William Haigh, Sr, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 14, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born in 1939, in New York and moved to New Jersey when he was a Junior at Ramsey High School. After he married his high school sweet heart, Ruth, he and his family lived in Midland Park, New Jersey.

William, or Bill, very proudly joined the Navy and served his country from 1957 to 1961. After that he was a plumbing apprentice for his brother-in-law, and then became a Master Plumber himself, and started his own business.

He is survived by his wife Ruth Haigh of Midland Park, his loving daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jay Van Schaick of West Milford, New Jersey and Sandra and Jason Dewey of Forest, Virginia, his grandchildren: Jay, Anna, and Rachael Van Schaick and Shae (Funk), Nate, and Garrett Dewey. Bill is also survived by his sisters Dottie Cishek, Jackie Nelson and Maureen Hurban. Predeceased by his beloved son Billy.

Visiting hours will be held from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. Funeral Service at 12:00pm on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ.

Interment will follow at Redeemer Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ.
