Wilma J. Nydam

NYDAM, Wilma Jean age 80 of Wyckoff, NJ formerly of Midland Park died peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2020.  Wilma was born in Paterson and grew up in Midland Park, New Jersey.  She lived in Paramus, Midland Park, Hawthorne and spent several years in Palm Coast, Florida before returning to New Jersey in 2017.  Wilma finished her nursing career as an office manager for Dr. John Zak, gastroenterologist in Ormond Beach, Florida, retiring in 2016.  In her early career Wilma worked for several health care agencies including Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey and Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, New Jersey.

Wilma was a member of the Packanack Lake Community Church in Wayne and supported the Greyhound Friends of New Jersey rescue association.

Wilma was predeceased by her loving husband Jack of 55 years. Surviving are her four children John and his wife Carol of Elizabeth, CO, Kenneth and his wife Kathie of Fredon, NJ, Susan and her husband Robert Vander Pyl and Sharon and her husband Darryl Donlin of West Caldwell, NJ.  Wilma was loving grandmother to Julia, Jacob, Sarah, Robert, Meredith and Elise. She also leaves her brother Arthur Beauchamp and his wife Lynn and her 3 nephews, Michael, Daniel and Thomas. 

The Nydam family will receive family and friends on Thursday, September 10 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff.  A graveside service will be held Friday, September 11, 11:00 am at Valleau Cemetery in Ridgewood.  Memorial contributions in Wilma’s name can be made to the Greyhound Friends of NJ rescue group at greyhoundfriendsnj.org.
