Obituary
Jay Ira Wohl (79) passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023 peacefully in his sleep after a brave battle with cancer. Jay, fondly known as Butch, was born to Herman and Jessie Wohl in Orange, New Jersey. He worked as an industrial roofer during his life and co-owned his own business (Ramig Roofing Co) for over 30 years until he retired. Throughout his life he enjoyed many days on the golf course, collecting model trains, classic cars and attending Yankees and Giants games with his kids. His larger-than-life personality, sense of humor and big heart will be greatly missed.
Jay is survived by his wife of 39 years, Midge and children Raegan (Brian) Lucchesse, Andrea (Robert) Murray, Doug (Teresa) Thompson, Scott Thompson, Kim (Dave) Grillo. He is also survived by his grandchildren Nicholas, Ethan, Brendan, Lauren, Anthony, and Jason. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Jessie and his sister, Gail.
Visitation will be held on February 3,2023 at the Vander Platt Funeral Home in Wyckoff, NJ from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St.Jude Children’s Research Hospital:
